I don’t know about you, but statement tees seem to be all the rage these days. I was in Target the other day and they literally had a wall of gray tees with a bunch of different sayings on them. As much as I love a good statement tee, I feel like a lot of them are the same. The designs tend to run together…grey fabric, black or white block lettering, some profound statement like “Do What You Love” or “But First, Coffee.” I’m a fan of both of those statements, by the way, but even I think they’re a tad overused.
A couple months ago I found the Honey and the Hive on Instagram and was very much hooked. Kelsey is an insanely talented artist who sells all sorts of fabulous products, including t-shirts! What’s awesome about Kelsey’s work is that it is totally unique, and full. of. color. No grey and black pairings here! If you know me personally you know that I tend to shy away from color, but I do really love it on other people. These are shirts I can definitely get behind, too. With sayings like “Stay Weird,” “Pies Before Guys” and “Don’t Be Salty,” these shirts are anything but boring.
I recently had the opportunity to shoot some product photos for Kelsey with my sister, Mary. Mary modeled the “Stay Weird” shirt and, let’s be honest, totally killed it.
